AnySpeed Info

AnySpeed General Information:

AnySpeed is a program designed to monitor your internet connection.  We suggest you keep this on at all times you are trading to monitor your connection to your ISP and to monitor your connection to the RediPlus server you are logged into.

This is what AnySpeed looks like when you are using it:

Description:

If you look at the graph in the image above (the one on the bottom), you can see that on Thursday, August 24th the RediPlus server with the IP address 209.224.162.175 (in red), was doing fine until 9:00 am.  Then it's response time plummetted and lagged behind until noon. That's not a RediPlus server you want to be connected to.

When this happens, and you see you are on a poorly responding server, you should immediately log off redi, then log back on using a server number that is working well.

What you want is a server like 12.3.89.174.  If you look at that graph, you can see that it was not affected by the morning open.  Periodically, we send the remote traders a list of the servers that work best over time.

Downloading:

Click here to download AnySpeed (this will be saved on your system as AnySpeedSetup.exe) Be sure to save it into your C:\Bright directory.

Installation:

Run the program and it will install itself on your system and on your "Start" button under "Programs". When you first run it, you'll be asked for a registration code. THis will be e-mailed to you after your Remote Trader Info Form is received.

Usage:

You'll want to set up a few connections to monitor. to do this, click on the button that has a "+" on it. Then enter the name of the website you want to monitor. I suggest these:

    • 12.3.89.174 - a SLK server
    • www.yahoo.com - for a baseline
    • the website of your internet provider
    • The Redi server that you have been logged into for the day. TO see this, in the RediPlus Menu, go to About... and you'll see the IP address of the server. Add that as a server to monitor.

If you go into "Settings", you can do fancier things like set an audible alarm when your internet connection goes down. Click on the "Help" button to find out how to do this.
