Paltalk General Information:

Paltalk is the program we use for our audiochat room.

Every morning at 9:05am, Bright has a company-wide morning call to disseminate pertinant market information for traders as well as Bright specific information.

After that, we keep it open during the trading day for any remote traders that may want to log on and chat.

It is also used as an instant messaging application.

Description:

If you look at the screen shot above, you can see the text chat on the left and the list of participants on the right. You can also see the microphone and speaker volume sliders at the lower left.  When logged into the room, you will hear everything that is spoken.  If you wish to speak, you just request a microphone.

Downloading:

Click here to download Paltalk (this will be saved on your system as PaltalkSetup.exe)  Be sure to save it into your C:\Bright directory.

Installation:

Run the program and it will install itself on your system. It will then start up. The first time it starts:

• Double-click on PaltalkSetup.exe that you downloaded.
• Paltalk will install on your system. Follow the instructions it gives you.
• When the login screen comes up select New User.
• When it asks your for your nickname, use something we can recognize such as Your first initial and last name and then append it with "-RMT"(i.e.:"JSmith-RMT"). If you don't use this and you are not recognized, then you will be kicked out of the Bright room on Paltalk.
• Once you are logged in, you can go to the Groups window, then the Business and Finance category and then log into the Bright room. (You should have received your passwords by e-mail).

Usage:

• Once you are logged in to Paltalk, you can go to the Groups window, then the Business and Finance category and then log into the Bright room. (You will receive the password to the Bright room by e-mail once you complete the Remote Trader Info Form).
• During the morning call, you will hear people speaking and can type in the text chat. If you'd like to speak, just click on the "raise hand" icon. You will be given a mic and then can speak by pressing the CTRL key and speaking into your microphone.
• During the trading day, you don't need to raise your hand, just hold down the CTRL key to speak.
